The Role and Requirements:
We are seeking to recruit Landscape Architects to join our design team in London. This is an excellent opportunity to join our talented team of designers working on a variety of interesting design projects in London and across the UK. Our work ranges from large scale landscape frameworks through to detailed design and implementation for new developments and public realm.
We are looking for individuals who display strong creative skills with the ability to take a pro-active role on projects. You will have a sound knowledge of the UK planning system with experience in preparing information to support large planning applications, particularly within the housing sector. You will be a good communicator, proficient at report writing, and with strong drafting and graphic skills. You will be highly proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe suite and Sketch-Up and confident in producing hand drawn plans and sketches with which to communicate your ideas. You will be a team player who is versatile and willing to co-operate and collaborate with other professionals.
A sound horticultural knowledge and keen interest in planting design is highly desirable as well as having practical on-site experience, involving liaison with contractors and inspecting works on site.
You will hold a post graduate degree in landscape architecture (or relevant subject) and have between 2 to 5 years professional experience. You may be a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute or you may have the commitment and drive needed to work towards obtaining Chartered status.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant subject
2 to 5 years’ post-graduate experience
Licentiate or Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute
Creative design skills
An understanding of the UK planning system and an awareness of International, National and local environmental policy and planning policy
Ability to confidently represent TEP at project meetings, presentations and consultation meetings
Experience in the preparation of contract documentation, tendering and administration of contracts, specifications and NBS
Knowledge of CDM Regulations
A sound horticultural knowledge and interest in planting design
Proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
Good report writing and numeracy skills
Full UK driving licence
Understanding and knowledge of the process of landscape and visual assessment and landscape character assessment including familiarity with the structure and content of assessment documents and drawings.
Sound knowledge of construction detailing e.g. drainage, paving etc.
Understanding of landscape management principles and contracts.
Practical on-site experience including liaison with contractors and inspection of on-site hard and soft landscape works
Ability to use 3d modelling programmes.
