ROLE

The CDS Group is the only consultancy specialising in crematoria and cemetery development in the UK, with in-house planning, design, project management and environmental services.
Due to a rapid increase in business within the public and private sector, we are offering a unique and exciting opportunity to join a growing company; with knowledge and experience to gain in abundance across a range of crematoria, cemetery, natural burial grounds, memorial gardens, parks and open space developments, and full exposure to the entire delivery team from inception to completion.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience, preferably Chartered.
  • Strong ability to use various software applications such as Vecterworks/AutoCAD, Keyscape, Photoshop, Sketchup.
  • Contract preparation, specifications, and cost estimating.
  • The applicant is required to have a full UK driving license, with willingness to travel to site visits across the UK.
  • A willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Soft and hard landscaping drawings and supporting information from concept through to detailed, tender and construction stages.
  • High quality report writing to support landscape related planning documentation to include Strategic Master Planning, Land Visual Impact Assessments, Design and Access Statements
  • High quality technical and analytical skills to support the delivery of all drawing and supporting information to meet Client Briefs.
  • Strong ability to present proposals to clients and key stakeholders.
  • Be able to liaise with colleagues, clients, external partners, contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers.
  • Have a natural flair for design and be able to combine attention to detail with creative thinking.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to ensure delivery of projects to deadlines.
  • A reliable and committed approach.
  • Awareness of National Planning Policy.

About The CDS Group

Over the last 20 years, CDS has undertaken in excess of 500 feasibility studies and designed and built over 50 new cemeteries both in the UK and overseas. As a result of the success and reputation in the cemetery market, CDS has expanded into designing and developing new crematoria sites for both private companies and local authorities; with many new sites currently under construction and many more at various stages of feasibility, design and planning.

Our business has grown from cemetery development services to three distinct areas namely Cemeteries and Crematoria, Parks and Leisure, and Environmental Assessments. That aside, the quality of our work has not changed.

We maintain the high level of service you expect. We currently have new sites under construction. Many more are in different stages of project feasibility, design and planning.

Our in-house team will handle the design, planning, and groundwater risk assessment, ensuring one point of contact throughout. Our in house designers, planners, environmental consultants and drainage engineers work together to ensure a seamless project flow, from inception to completion.
