    We are recruiting for a Senior Landscape Architect (Chartered) to join PBA’s Landscape Team in Bristol, to provide landscape consultancy advice and work on landscape assessments for a rapidly expanding range of projects.     We are looking for candidates who have demonstrable experience in undertaking LVIAs, appraisals, landscape character assessments and landscape evidence bases, in support of site allocations and planning applications. Experience in providing pre-masterplanning landscape and visual advice, as part of feasibility and opportunities studies and strategic landscape framework advice, will be a strong advantage.

    Our landscape team works on projects which are varied in sector and tasks, and which frequently require collaboration with environmental specialists and multiple discipline experts across the business. They include some significant development, infrastructure and regeneration projects, which offer the opportunity to partner with the client to deliver effective and creative development solutions.

    The Senior Landscape Architect Role:

    In addition to preparing LVIAs and appraisals as technical work to support projects, you will manage the landscape input to projects for clients and develop strong client and project team relationships, where you are the day-to-day contact helping to provide rounded consultancy advice. You will be encouraged to innovate and work with clients and other disciplines to create sustainable value for our clients and communities. The role will include input to writing proposals and financial management. As a key member of our team, you will help to mentor and develop junior staff on projects. Working closely with the landscape team leader, you will also have the opportunity to develop and shape the growth of the PBA landscape business.

    About You
    The ideal candidate will be a positive and motivated Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) with relevant UK project experience, and will have:

    • Proven experience of undertaking LVIAs and appraisals, landscape character assessments and landscape evidence bases in support of site allocations and planning applications;
    • Excellent analytical and technical abilities, be well-organised and be able to be flexible in their approach to tasks;
    • Confidence in client interactions;A good knowledge of environmental planning issues beyond the discipline of landscape architecture;
    • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to compile and check reports

    In addition, experience in the preparation of work to support Expert Witness or Public Inquiry projects is desirable.
