Honorary Treasurer – the Landscape Institute is currently seeking a Chartered or Fellow member to fill this vacancy

The LI is looking for a current Chartered or Fellow member to fill its Honorary Treasurer vacancy and make a vital contribution to the work of the institute. We are particularly keen to hear from those with high level financial and/or business experience

The officers (President, President Elect, Vice-President, Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer) attend both Board of Trustees (5 per year) and Advisory Council (3 per year) meetings and work for the LI outside these meetings.  The HonTreasurer also chairs the Finance & Risk Committee (4 times per year)

The Board and Council are the public faces of the landscape profession. They engage and collaborate with members and key stakeholders to gain valuable insight and help ensure the profession’s continued relevance and success.

This is a casual vacancy that will serve until 30 June 2021. Thereafter the candidate will need to follow the usual nomination process for elections held in May 2021 for a 2 year term (July 2021-June 2023).

About the role

Working in liaison with the Officers, the CEO and COO, the Honorary Treasurer leads the trustees in the oversight of the LI’s strategic financial management. While all trustees are collectively responsible for the management of the LI’s resources, the Honorary Treasurer acts as the lead trustee in articulating the financial governance of the LI and plays an active role in ensuring that all trustees are fully able to understand the LI’s financial arrangements and contribute to financial discussion and decisions. All Officers to work together to support each other, ensuring there are appropriate delegations of authority and oversight of those delegations in place.
