We are on the lookout for ambitious and purpose driven Senior Landscape Architects, and Project and Assistant Landscape Architects.

BMD is an award-winning team of Landscape Architects and Ecologists who are on a mission to drive change in the way new settlements are planned. Over the last ten years we have honed our nature first approach as part of an award-winning landscape led design and delivery process.

You’ll be working directly with the founders, landscape and technical teams and our in-house Ecology team on an expanding portfolio of projects, which includes some of the UK’s largest planned new settlements and urban regeneration schemes. If you are in your element working as part of a team managing projects that will make a difference to our planet through the visioning and delivery of aspirational landscapes, then this role is for you.

The roles are based in our Hatton office in Warwickshire with flexible and remote working arrangements in place to support our team to achieve that all important work/life balance. We would encourage applicants from outside our immediate geographical catchment.

X2 SENIOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS

As Senior Landscape Architect you will take a lead, manage resource, and work directly on a variety of projects at all scales and of varying complexity. Project work will range from high profile strategic residential and urban regeneration schemes through to detailed public realm design. Strong design skills are essential for this role as well as the ability to demonstrate solid experience of running projects through all work stages.

Experience and skills required:

  • Qualifications: BA (Hons) and PG Dip or MA essential, CMLI expected, but not a prerequisite
  • 6+ years’ experience working in private and/ or public sector
  • A confident, positive and proactive approach with strong client facing skills
  • A proven track record in running projects from concept stage through to completion with strong report writing skills
  • Excellent time and task management skills and ability to cope with dynamic deadlines
  • Team leadership experience and managing less experienced staff, including mentoring
  • Experience in working within multidisciplinary design teams
  • Excellent oral, written and graphic presentation skills
  • Creative flair and strong freehand drawing skills
  • Good plant knowledge
  • Fluency in English
  • Full working knowledge of key software including AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketchup and Microsoft Office
  • A full UK driving license

X2 PROJECT LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS

As Project Landscape Architect you will work as part of a larger team on a variety of projects at all scales and of varying complexity. Project work will vary but could include: input to detailed design packages for high-end public realm schemes, input to the design and delivery of strategic green infrastructure on large masterplanning schemes, and preparing baseline information for landscape and visual assessments. Design flair and some technical knowledge will be crucial in this role, as well as experience of working within a multi-disciplinary design team.

Experience and skills required:

  • Qualifications: BA (Hons) and PG Dip or MA, CMLI not a prerequisite
  • 2+ years’ experience working in private and/ or public sector
  • A confident self-starter who is equally comfortable working alone and as part of a team
  • Able to demonstrate experience in working on projects at a variety of stages from concept through to completion
  • Comfortable liaising with clients and design teams
  • Ability to cope with dynamic deadlines
  • Experienced in working within multidisciplinary design teams
  •  Excellent oral, written and graphic presentation skills
  • Experience in producing hard and soft landscape specifications using NBS
  • Strong freehand drawing skills
  • Good plant knowledge
  • Fluency in English
  • Full working knowledge of key software including AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketchup and Microsoft Office
  • A full UK driving license

X2 GRADUATE/ASSISTANT LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS

As Graduate/Assistant Landscape Architect you will work across a range of projects as part of a larger team providing design development and technical and graphic support to our Project, Landscape and Senior Landscape Architects.

Experience and skills required:

  • Qualifications: BA (Hons) and PG Dip or MA
  • 1+ years’ experience working in private/public practice
  • Aptitude for hard and soft landscape detailing on a range of project types
  • Working knowledge of key software including AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketchup and Microsoft Office
  •   Strong free hand and digital 3D sketching/rendering skills would be advantageous
  • Ability to cope with dynamic deadlines
  • Fluency in English
  • A full UK driving license
