Our well established and busy London Landscape Planning team has an exciting opportunity for both talented Landscape Planners at various levels and Landscape Planning Technicians to join their team to work on a broad range of prestigious landscape projects across the country.
This is a unique opportunity for the right individuals to join a successful commercially minded team and to rapidly develop their career with a wide range of high quality experience and exposure on projects varying in scale and sector. These include strategic-scale residential and mixed-use schemes, tall buildings, townscape, distribution facilities and infrastructure, windfarm, energy and minerals projects. Input is provided at various stages through the planning process, from strategic appraisal supporting site promotion, to informing detailed design. The team works across the country, with Barton Willmore’s multi-disciplinary teams and a wide range of other consultancies for prestigious clients on high profile schemes.
The successful Landscape Planning candidates will have excellent technical skills, a comprehensive knowledge of landscape and visual appraisal and impact assessment techniques, including best practice assessment methodologies, and a working knowledge of the current UK planning system. The candidate would ideally be experienced in undertaking, writing and preparing Landscape and visual impact assessments (including chapters for inclusion in Environmental Statements), Townscape and visual impact assessments and tall building assessment, preliminary landscape and visual appraisals to inform the development process, strategic assessments of designated land including Green Belt and Strategic Gaps/AONB, Landscape Capacity Studies and Landscape Strategy Plans and other design related input to the planning process.
The successful Landscape Planning Technician candidates will be design oriented and will have excellent technical skills and a strong team capability. They will have experience of producing drawings, plans and documents for use in Landscape Planning and design related projects, for example, illustrative material, drawings and stitching photo’s to support plans and written reports for use in projects and tenders, and an ability to work to a specific brief and within tight deadlines.
